Behavioral Assessment Link POSITION SUMMARY: This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Healthy Living Administrator is a dynamic, cause-driven leader in a critical and member-facing role. The Healthy Living Administrator will support the Executive Director with the Montclair Run. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Serves as a role model for customer service and YMCA values for the entire Healthy Living department. Leads with inclusion and ensures all members and participants feel welcome and are treated with dignity and respect. Oversees the administrative duties associated with the annual Montclair Run, including permitting, vendor communication, police and EMS, and run-of-show. Coordinates with Executive Director, Director of Personal Training and Community programs, Marketing, Development, and Community Engagement staff to ensure the Montclair Run is well planned and executed. Supports the development, implementation, and management of operating plans to promote program and membership growth. Oversees the Healthy Living departmental documents and forms library, ensuring that all documents are organized, available, current with industry guidance, and relevant to the needs of the department staff and YMCA members. Attends required Abuse Risk Management training and adhere to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising members and participants. Reports suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations and follow mandated abuse reporting procedures. Ensures unused rooms and closets remain locked; routinely monitors high-risk locations (locker rooms and restrooms, etc.). The effectiveness of this position should be observable and measured by membership satisfaction surveys and evaluations, both formal and casual. LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES: Emotional Maturity Communication Critical Thinking and Decision Making QUALIFICATIONS: Must be creative and demonstrate initiative and enthusiasm, with the ability to work under occasional stressful conditions. Ability to work independently, with strong communication, interpersonal, and supervisory skills. Capable of inspiring and leading staff and volunteers while acting as part of a team. Must have a positive, upbeat attitude and strong member service skills, with the ability to relate effectively with a diverse population. Must complete Y-USA required online training within three business days from the date of hire. Complete any other YUSA trainings as needed. Preferred minimum of two years’ successful experience in fitness, retail, sales, customer service, or communications industries as a manager or team leader. Some experience working with youth, adults, and seniors in a wellness environment preferred. Must be willing to obtain YMCA certifications. Must have a CPR/AED and First Aid Certification OR get certified within 90 days of employment. RISK & COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Implement and uphold all YMCA policies related to safety, risk reduction, and abuse prevention. Provide ongoing supervision, training, and feedback to ensure staff maintain clear boundaries and follow established procedures. Respond promptly and confidentially to concerns or policy violations and follow required reporting protocols. WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and talk or hear. This work requires sufficient strength, agility, and mobility to perform essential position functions as well as those required for fitness certifications.
