position is eligible for telework , which is currently available

CON GRADE: 002 SALARY RANGE : $ 84,893 to $106,117 DEADLINE: Open
Until Filled S ummary The Senior Safety Specialist , under the
direction of the Safety Manager , will oversee the safety
operations of construction activities in accordance with contract
requirements and best management safety practices. Responsibilities
Duties include (but are not limited to): Ensure that HASP and SWP
plans are in compliance and that the contractor is working safely.
Will require field visits . Conduct routine site assessments to
identify hazardous work practices and conditions. Liaise with
construction compliance managers and contractors to develop
corrective action strategies to eliminate hazardous conditions and
prevent workplace incidents. Participate in safety meetings, job
briefings, design reviews, and progress meetings, a s well as
review contractor - submitted health and safety plans, job hazard
analyses, means , and methods . P re-task intend s to ensure
compliance with MTA C&D's Safety Program and regulatory
conformity. Participate in and document accident and incident
investigations. Prepare weekly performance reports utilizing
web-based application s and spreadsheets. Education and Experience
Bachelor ' s degrees in
Engineering/Architecture/Construction/Safety Engineering/Safety
Management/Construction Safety . Must have a minimum of four (4)
years of related experience. Competencies: Experience using data
and metrics to drive improvements . Experience with construction
safety contractor management program s or providing oversight for
3rd party services/contractors. Possess a valid OSHA 30-hour card
in the Construction Industry under five years old. Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient computer skills
(i.e., Windows environment, Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft, Oracle,
etc.) and strong business administrative skills (i.e. ,
presentations, report and letter writing, time management, etc.).
Driver's License (required for some Business Units) Other
