How You'll Perform the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detailed-oriented individual to join our team in Meriden, CT, as a Safety Quality Coordinator. The Safety Quality Coordinator contributes to the success of Novolex's mission, vision, and values by driving continuous improvement and promoting corporate quality and safety programs company-wide.


  • Maintain Quality and EHS systems and complete audits to maintain certification and continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for coordinating and providing all training for, Quality, Safety, and SQF programs.
  • Engage and lead all employees to ensure a Safety and Quality-oriented culture at all facility levels. * Support and participate in daily activities on the production floor related to Quality and EHS.
  • Obtain, analyze, and coordinate corrective actions on significant deviations from safety and quality standards.
  • Effectively communicates relevant information to the management and corporate teams as appropriate. Works with other departmental staff to troubleshoot issues on the production floor.
  • Strives for continuous improvement in overall defect reduction, safety awareness, and procedure adherence.
  • Monitors procedure effectiveness and implements appropriate adjustments.
  • Communicate with customers, suppliers, certification bodies, and governmental agencies regarding quality, safety, and compliance issues.
  • Leads the investigation of accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify causes and determine how such accidents might be prevented.
  • Maintains compliance with all applicable Waste, Water, and Air regulations through required preventative equipment maintenance, recordkeeping, and preparation of reports and plans.
  • Provides leadership to site staff, employees, and EHS committees that will continue to drive a strong EHS culture.
  • Coordinates and conducts EHS training for employees' contractors, and visitors as needed.



    What We Need From You

    • Bachelor's degree preferred and at least five years of experience working in one of these areas in a manufacturing setting.
    • Ability to work on multiple projects under pressure within deadlines and interact with management, peers, and regulatory agencies with self-confidence, poise, and professionalism.
    • Must exhibit the ability to function with limited supervision.
    • Must be accountable and self-driven to learn and continuously strive for improvement * Must be a team player that interacts effectively with coworkers in groups or in independent cooperative activities.
    • Ability to function under pressure and able to prioritize numerous tasks with conflicting deadlines.
