Top Bank in Darien, CT seeks AVP Regulatory Compliance and Risk

The Compliance Risk Analyst's role is to assess compliance risk in the development of the Bank's new and existing business growth initiatives. The Compliance Risk Analyst will coordinate with departments across the Bank including operations, finance, strategy, and lending to evaluate the initiatives. The Compliance Risk Analyst is responsible for completing risk assessments, performing enhanced due diligence, and writing and presenting reports to support results.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Duties which are critical/central to accomplishing the purpose of the job. List job duties in order of importance.) :

Describe what must be accomplished.
Establishes compliance risk assessment criteria
Create framework and policies for Fintech risk compliance management
Work closely with legal and regulatory bodies
Performs due diligence reviews of new bank partners and clients
Assess new business opportunities for compliance with federal and state laws and regulations
Meets with prospective bank partners and clients regarding compliance topics
Maintains accurate and detailed records of current and prospective bank partners and clients
Write executive summaries of results and findings from review
Conduct ongoing monitoring and review of high-risk bank partners and clients
Establishes relationships with Bank management and banking partners/clients
Coordinates with Bank management and banking partners/clients on an as-needed basis to resolve issues in a timely and professional manner
Leads and /or participates in special projects.
Improves and documents processes wherever appropriate.
Adheres to compliance procedures and internal/operational risk controls in accordance with all applicable regulatory standards, requirements, and policies.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES (Required for this job.) :
Superior analytical and critical thinking skills
Strong writing ability to convey complex compliance risks in a manner easily understood by others
Understanding of federal banking regulatory requirements for deposits, lending, and/or payments
Demonstrated interest in new and upcoming banking technology and/or solutions
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Self-starter, problem solver, someone who thrives on delivering results
Must be able to work independently while remaining a team player

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS (minimum education and/or years of experience required to perform the job.)

College degree or equivalent work experience.
Required Years of Work Experience: Min 3-5 years
Bachelor's degree
Preferred Licenses/Certifications: CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Analyst)
