Summary: The Project Manager oversees a team that achieves thesuccessful completion of each assigned project. Each project begins with receipt of an incoming purchase order, to receipt of full payment from the customer. Ensures customers receive best service possible, through effective communication, processing of orders and coordination of involved departments to deliver quality products, on time, in compliance to customer specifications and policies and procedures. Receipt/distribution of order related documentation and ensures pump documentation is issued in a timely manner. At close of job, a stronger customer/supplier relationship will have been attained, and the booked margin or greater, realized. The Project Manager will have accounts/jobs to manage in addition to leading the Project Management team.
Essential Functions:



  • Acts as central contact for client for all aspects of order. Ensures expeditious communication with customer on order changes, status updates, and problem solving.


  • Manages and organizes receipt and transmittal of documentation per procedure to internal and external customers in a timely manner.


  • Manages Factory Order Packages through completion.


  • Manages changes orders.


  • Responsible for on-time delivery of overall project.


  • Ensures job close-out financial performance is greater than or equal to booked margin.


  • Assembles and organizes customer facing documentation for final manuals including Instruction, Operation & Maintenance Manuals, Final Data Books, Manufacturing Record Books and customer specified manuals.


  • Keeps management appraised of financial progress of job.


  • Regular and reliable attendance


    Secondary Responsibilities:


    • Coordinates details of customer visits for witness tests, plant tours, etc.


    • Advises management of order status, changes, clarifications, and approvals.


    • Actively involved with continuous process improvement.


    • Supports, cooperates with, and participates in company-wide LEAN and EHS Management System which includes following all safety, health and environmental policies and procedures. Supports and cooperates in company-wide Quality Management effort.


    • Adheres to company and department policies, procedures, and standards.


    • Performs other duties as assigned.


      Management Responsibilities:


      • Manages PM department (Project Managers and Project Coordinator).


      • Update/Change processes to improve and streamline the overall project. Emphasis on consistent customer communications and meeting due dates.


        Qualifications:


        • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or closely related field, or equivalent education and experience combined is required.


        • 4 years project management experience and knowledge of pump manufacturing.


        • Experience with engineered or configured products, quality principles, and related technical knowledge.


        • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, problem solving, attention to detail, and ability to independently manage several projects at one time.


        • Ability to work with internal and external customers, under demanding conditions.


        • Demonstrated computer proficiency, with knowledge of Excel, Word and graphics is required.


        • Knowledge or experience with SAP is preferred.


        • Knowledge or experience with Industry Standards is preferred (ANSI, API, etc.).


          Physical Requirements:


          • Work is generally performed in an office environment working at a desk on a computer


          • Travel to other Sulzer sites, customer offices, construction sites, and suppliers may be required


          • International travel may be required


          • Lifting up to 25 pounds


          • Typing
