Job Description Main mission of the role: The Cables Industrialization Manager will lead NPI and Manufacturing engineering activities, as well as, oversee a group of process engineers and technicians for all Cable product lines. This manager and their team will be required to support daily operations in the Meriden facility, as well as NPI activities internally and abroad. The position reports directly to the Meriden Factory Director. --- Job responsibilities: ---Manage the team NPI/Process engineers and technicians. ---Responsible for all Industrialization areas of new product introduction: oProject prioritizing, schedule, and resource allocation oContributing to Drawing and BOM reviews oPFMEA oProduction Planning oWriting work/test instructions oDesign and installation of production lines oPurchase of necessary equipment and tools oLead pilot activity and resolution for any MFG issues ---Support production floor for daily process and equipment issues ---Support other RFS facilities and 3rd party suppliers for product launches and production optimization ---Lead continuous improvement, cost reduction, and other optimization activities for department ---Lead yearly CAPEX budget planning and out of budget CAPEX requests Main interfaces: Operations, Project Management, Quality Control, R&D, Production workers, Facilities Skills, knowledge and abilities 10 years related experience in manufacturing/industrialization, preferably in Fiber Optic or Wire and Cable industries 3-5 years--- experience in people management Hands on / Must work well in a team project setting Lean and Six Sigma understanding, Green and Black Belts preferred CAD experience, Solidworks/AutoCAD preferred Background in Fiber Optics and Fiber Optic terminations a plus System control for production processes, including bills of materials, routings, MRP, setup sheets, work instructions. Ability to understand and troubleshoot equipment: Mechanical and electrical systems Hand tools Termination, assembly, and automation systems MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Accountable, able to Prepare/Track/Follow up projects from start to finish, and ability to work independently
