Description Robert Half is looking for an experienced Staff Accountant with an eye for accuracy to fill a long-term contract / temporary position at a growing Mortgage Companies company. As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will assist in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position is very involved as it will produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. It's a thriving environment where effort is rewarded.Key responsibilities- Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner- Assist in monthly financial close workbook preparation, including annual closing process- Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed- Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision- Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting- Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP- Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation- Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments- Organize capital lease and monthly payment schedules- Take part in various department-wide initiatives Requirements - Current and relevant ERP system experience- Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges- Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines- Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment- Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills- Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics- Recent and relevant accounting experience- Proficient with spreadsheets and databases- Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases- Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement- Account reconciliation experience desired Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
